The BCTS Methodology
BCTS uses a dual-evidence approach to understand both what students experience and what institutions demonstrably provide.
Through the Campus Experience Index™ and Institutional Assurance Audit™, BCTS measures both what students experience and what institutions demonstrably provide. These validated insights are integrated into the Campus Distinction Score™ to determine eligibility for Best Campus to Study™ Certification.
Campus Experience Index™
CEI is the proprietary BCTS student experience measurement framework.
It evaluates student perception across major dimensions of university life, including:
-
Learning Experience
-
Career & Future Readiness
-
Wellbeing & Safety
-
Belonging & Campus Culture
-
Campus Living
-
Digital & Physical Infrastructure
-
Sustainability & Responsibility
Responses are collected through structured and confidential survey mechanisms and evaluated according to BCTS sampling and validation protocols.
Institutional Assurance Audit™
The Evidence Behind the Experience
The IAA™ validates the institutional systems, policies, infrastructure, investments and student-support practices that shape the campus experience. It ensures that student perceptions are backed by demonstrable evidence and measurable institutional commitment.
Evidence may relate to:
Academic delivery; student support; campus safety; counselling; career services; residences; infrastructure; digital services; extracurricular ecosystems; sustainability; grievance systems; and institutional governance relating to student experience.
Campus Distinction Score™
The Certification Benchmark
The CDS is the final composite benchmark that integrates validated student experience and institutional assurance outcomes. It determines whether an institution meets the prescribed standards for Best Campus to Study™ Certification and identifies its areas of institutional distinction.
It integrates validated student experience and institutional evidence into a structured performance framewor
